The first tool room I revamped was an excuse to get away from my desk. The technicians responded so well, that even the busiest tech put the tools back in place. Each tech received a PDF with tool locations, allowing them to find any tool in 2 - 3 minutes.

I've been in several roles in the service department, and I understand chaos in the tool room affects more than just technicians.

I still receive messages from techs when a tool is in the same place it was five years ago.
